    98 odyssey

I have a 98 odyssey. It has 245000 k on it. It is running well, with no obvious problems. Just wondering if I should sell now. Any suggestions on the expected lifespan of the automatic transmission and the engine. Both are original and not showing any signs of problems.

    Hey there
Why would you want to sell it for?
No one can tell you when to sell a car
As long as the engine and transmission are still regularly cared for
then they should last the life of the car

A friend also had a 98 odyssey and the transmission went at 300000. If this is common I would sell the odyssey before I had to spend plenty on it. Otherwise I'd keep it. It has been a beauty(bit big for only one passenger though)

Is it really going to be worth selling? I can't see an Odyssey with 250,000kms on it commanding much of a price. Might be better to run it into the ground.

it would be difficult to sell considering the high kms

since its more of a family car and not trashed like a sports car
it'll have no problems reaching 300000 if it has been taken care of
my fathers accord is at 320xxx still goin strong

LOL the engine and transmission will last to the end of the cars life. thats like a given.
imagine if i said i would be alive to the end of my life.

when is the end of a cars life, is it when the car is so rusted it falls apart, or is it when the engine and tranny dies.
if its the later then the death of engine+tranny is the marker for the end of the cars life, so saying that they will last to the end of its life is like saying the same thing backwards

Thanks for thoughts, I'm leaning towards hanging on to it for a few more years.
