Question 'CLUNK' Sound - Need Help

I have a 03 GLi. Out of the blue, a 'clunk' sound has developed, coming
from the engine bay. It only happens when I release the clutch.
It doesn't matter if the engine is on or off, or what gear I am in, it
'clunks' regardless, on release of the clutch.

    Has anyone experienced this problem?

(I have carried out a search without success)

your pressure plate in your clutch would be gone i'd say. in other words, new clutch.

I am not sure with jazz, but i did have similar noise with my past 2003 CRV. At that time, i think it was the metal fork inside crv clutch mechanism got dried. So, I crawled under the engine, open the rubber boot that connect the cable, lever, and clutch housing, and i sprayed inside the housing with lithium grease. It stopped the noise. Do not use silicon base spray because it will RUST.
However, please bring to your trusty mechanic if you are unsure how to do this.
You can google it by using "clutch fork noise", whether your jazz symptoms similar with those posting in internet. Good luck.
