    B18cr pistons

Ok guys I am rebuilding a type r engine and would do a mild upgrade on it. I am buying a set of toda a2 cams, now thinking about the pistons. I'm going to get just a set of standard size (81mm) pistons but with higher compression. I know wiesco is pretty much the best choice, however When I looked through eBay, I saw some 200$ package just want to know what are the difference between them? Is the difference in price just because of the brand? Or they really differ in performance. Please advice me guys

    Cheers!

how many K's has the engine done?
what brand is the ebay one on sale?
I would google the brand and read up on all the reviews that would be the best place to start.

eBay pistons are all made in China. It is very hit and miss with the quality. One batch is good, the next not good. I would stick to quality brand names for the piece of mind as you are not going to get you eBay pistons strength tested before you fit them

A friend of mine bought a set of YCP pistons that were suppose to be the same compression as the CTR B16B PCT pistons. On comparison we noticed that the YCP had less valve clearance, as the valve recess pockets in the piston were not as deep or as wide as the genuine CTR pistons. Stick to a known brand. Especially like how you are upgrading your cams which has a higher lift and longer duration than stock.

So would you guys suggest me to use just the stock b18c type r pistons instead of ycp?

I would suggest using the stock ITR or CTR pistons.
A new set will cost about $400 + freight from inlinefour
