    replacing Catalytic Converter

So I finally got my RSB on, really happy with it.

Starting to get engine light and VSA on recently.

Mech reckons the cat is on it way out.

    Question.
Is it cheaper to just buy the CAT unit like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846

or the direct plug in like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/MagnaFlow-Prod...agnaflow+49026

I am guess if I go option with the first option, there is additional work?

looks like the Australian distributor wont have the direct bolt on unit until FEB 2013.

going to have to go with the cut and paste unit

You could go to the wreckers and see if they have a post face lift 400 cel unit?

Sorry to jump in but i have been getting the check engine light on recently intermittently,
the other night i got VSA, check engine and ! light on while driving but when turned the engine off and on the lights disappeared.

My question is does a faulty catalytic converter cause bad smell?
I've recently noticed a bad smell when driving and parking the car and thought it may be the issue you have.

bad news is I replaced the CAT and still getting the ! and VSA light.

O2 sensors just arrived so I hope that does the trick.

I havent noticed any smell other than when starting the engine - a whiff of petrol.

Have you tried getting the code scanned?

What's VSA got to do with the cat..?

My thoughts exactly. Might be easier to call Honda and ask them to check it with their computer. Just saying you don't have much money right now due to Christmas debt, but you're concerned about if it's a major issue or not, they'll usually do it for free.
