    VTEC in the D16Y1 is just so you can go...



    D16A8 [EG5 Si] feels quite decent compared to the D16Y1 [EG5 VTi], that lite/baby VTEC is amusing for only 5 seconds... Then you realise to drive normally in traffic you have to use it all the time, then you start noticing VTEC is too much to handle... Then before you know it, VTEC is Overrated lol...

    I've only been in a d16y8 from my mates ej8. To me, i dont think its that bad. I could live with a sohc vtec. I own a dc4, but now im thinking of getting an ej8, dc2, or del sol. Lol

    i haz d16y4 . i reckon its guttless but at the same time i still have fun in it. actually pretty good for a single cam engine.

    Yeah i suppose it can be a bit gutless. Lol. But at the same time i dont mind it.

    as a car strictly for handling a SOHC vtec is fine (but that due to the chassis),but on a straight, leaves in the breeze (no pun intended) will be faster and torqueier then you. bit the bullet and get a DOHC vtec.
