    Ok guys i NEED help with this. please :( strange noise!

    so im having this issue with my EG b18,

    its making a rough noise and occasionally blows smoke (usually only when it makes the noise), the engine light has always been on since the conversion... and it never ran rough when i first had it done.

    i completed moved the distributor. and adjusted it from scratch. and it is perfect. so it cant be the timing.
    it cant be blown rings because its not always blowing smoke.

    my mate said his did it too on the same b18c2 on a different car.. and he rebuilt it and it made no difference.
    so he sold it.. and the guy who bought it fixed it. but i have no idea who he is or what he did

    That is true. And I apologize. I meant no harm. If you do not wish to help me anymore then I will not be offended, I understand that I may have offended some people and it was meant to be a funny Honda joke. And now I really do need help sorry

    get some one to rev it while you look to find the source. kinda just sounds like a rattle but thats an odd one. locate the source and go from there

    sounds like its pinging man. maybe try some higher octane fuel? other than that, id also have to question the timing?

    if the same thing happened to ur mate and a rebuild didnt fix it, most likely your engine is healthy.. so id start looking at other things. maybe fuel related? filter, injectors?

    other than that check your o2 sensor etc. maybe even a faulty cat converter?

    I guess you havent got the check light diagnosed?

    That is A LOT of metal shavings from your sump plug.
