Mmmmmmmm that's why I'd never drive a car without full comp unless i was willing to lose it.

Bad luck buddy - how bad's the damage?

this. i dont care if the car is worth $5k or what, i want to know that if i anything happens im covered. that way i dont end up having a car that is no longer usable because i couldnt pony up the money for the repairs, or get the other party details.

That's messed up. I think everyone is being to harsh on you man. Full comprehensive is expensive for younger people, having third party atleast covers the other person if your at fault. One would expect others to do the same and not hit and run but I guess that's the selfish society we live in. Without grabbing the other persons details and no evidence (ID, rego etc) I think your on your own.
