    b16b turbo block internals

    hello ladies and gentlemen

i've been doing some research and reading around.

since the bare block (b16b and b18c7) is identicle
would using aftermarket pistons, rods and ITR work in a b16b shortblock?

finding connecting rods for a b16b is a mission, most likely would need to be custom.(or should i just get a b16a shortblock and work on that instead of the b16b?)

any ideas or advice would be appreciated
or even post up a build spec you're currently using

as i'm wanting to turbo my car, looking at around 300kw +
and wanting to buy some forged internals to suit.

    turbo will be a GTX3071r

Do yourself a favour and pick up a itr/vtir crank and stroke it to 1.8. B16b use the same block as b18's so you'll just need 1.8 crank, pistons and rods.

If you want to get a forged rod for the b16b you will need to order what is called a "long rod" for the LS/B20 engine and have the journal width machined to suite the b16b journal. See link for eagle long rod MFG PN: CRS5531A3D

    https://www.raceeng.com/p-1729-eagle...along-rod.aspx

If you are serious and want it talk to the guys at race engineering and they can get it machined for you and sell it to you as a finished product that will bolt up.

I have ordered one before 5 years ago. It works and I had no issues.

There are also better brands other than eagle that offer the same long rod.
