how would you know if your d16y8 is v-tec or non vtec,, not only looking on the valve cover..?

Pull the rocker cover off and look at the camshaft
Kermit EGK20A Winton: 1:35.08 Wakefield: 1:08.8
look for the vtec solenoid on driver side of engine
Drive it and see if VTEC engages.
listen for random bwaaaaaaa. except its SOHC so wait for nothing...
