Question Clutch pedal suddenly went lower to the ground cannot back to the position

    Guys I need some help

Car: Honda civic eg with b16a

Was fine last night but today when I try to drive, the clutch pedal just suddenly went lower to the ground and now cannot back to the position so I cannot change gear. I did checked behind the pedal looks like the fluid has leaked. And I checked and the fluid is really low looks like empty ( I believe the reservoir should located at top left corner)

I have feeling maybe the clutch master cylinder have issue

I am wondering can I refill the fluid and drive to work shop cause now can't change gear not drivable.
And is it easy to DIY change clutch master cylinder?

Anyone can help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks a lot

You can roll start the car in gear then carefully drive it to workshop without using clutch but I wont recommend it unless you feel confident to do so

do at night when no traffic

Yes, refill your empty reservoir with dot4 brake fluid. Keep pumping the clutch pedal and it will rise up again. Keep pumping till there are no bubbles coming out. Fill it to max level, then drive you can drive ur car again

Yeah 1 bottle is more than enough.

If your clutch master cylinder is gone get a new one from honda, they are under $100.

Yes 1 bottle should be enough. I've seen a DIY for it on honda-tech and ozhonda, search for it. Your clutch master cylinder is gone, you can get a genuine Honda one from Mekong for around $80-100.

Would suggest to do the slave as well while you're at it

^^^ beat me to. yes its a fairly easy DIY the master comes out with 2 nuts and a pin IIRC. when you replace a master you should also replace the slave as its very common to have the slave fail very soon after if not imediatly.
Mate my bbk cost more than your Honda.

    OP

Def. replace both master and slave cylinders at the same time.

Btw the clutch master and slave cylinder is compatible from all manual civic and integra 91-00. ( eg / ek / dc / em1 / ej8 / eh9 )
