all depends on the damage inside

do you know what failed ?

what happened to make it fail ?

what symptoms do you have ?

Really gotta pull apart the diff to know. A few scenarios...

    1. If your final drive is shattered... the diff might be salvageable but then you have to wonder what metal pieces lodged themselves inside the LSD and take a look...
    2. If the diff housing is cracked in any way, which would end up breaking the final drive - you'd need a completely new diff housing but could still have a salvageable LSD but again, small pieces inside it...
    3. Could be a CV joint? That also will sound like a blown diff but isn't and unfortunately can be just as common. Take a look at the CV joints and see if any are leaking, if they are - you might be lucky.

As mentioned above, diff or driveshaft/CV. We rebuild S2K diffs to various specs from factory standard upwards. I'll pm some options to you tomorrow, but take a look at our trader section and website for an idea of what we can do. We have all parts in stock including 4.77 final drives. I'll check to see if we have standard ratio ones too.

in that case. i recommend you give Difftechnics in Sydney a call. they have 2.9 billet, revised cv joints/porsche style rated upto 500hp for 1300 shipped. i had them and they are fantastic. will never need to worry about your shafts again.. ps. i'm not a sales person for them. i just really love the product. lol

What's the cost of the Difftechnics driveshafts? And that's a standard part replacement?

Pretty sure they would be the Driveshaft Shop product out of the States - same description. I'm actually looking to become a reseller at the moment, they have some great products.

Yeh they get em from driveshaft shop. I was quoted 1280 shipped to Melbourne. My original s2000 I paid 1500 for them. But was worth it. Nothing but good things to say about them. Heaps better than wasting money and time on second hand oem ones and spacers n bla bla

When I put coils in and lower my height, I'm going to be pulling the oem ones out, while they're vibration/excessive wear free. Keep em original and just put in the driveshafts from Difftechnics. Don't have to worry about then again
