EG Civic Breeze badly needing a service

Hi everyone,

New ozhonda member but not new to car forums. I've done a few searches already before posting but have not yet had any luck.

I needed a daily now that I am back working in the city more regularly and I've had good experience with the reliability of Hondas in the past having previously owned a 3rd gen Prelude and a ED Civic. After looking at a multitude of Corollas, Camrys, Accords and Civics I found a bargain EG Breeze.

Unfortunately the reason it was cheap was it has lots of car park style scrapes on bumpers and had not been serviced in quite some time but the car still ran very smoothly (last service in the books is 110k and it's now at 140k ). Obviously the first thing I have done is change the oil and filter, which were both DISGUSTING. The fact that this car still starts and runs so smoothly every day is a testament to Honda reliability. Also did a coolant flush and replaced front left wheel bearing that was quite noisy.

Now I am wondering what else I should be getting onto since I am not sure what should have been done during these missed intervals? The engine is a D13B2 and unfortunately the service manual I found through a search here did not include this engine type. I'm inclined to do most, if not all, the work myself but I am just unsure what should be done.

My thoughts are that I should replace the air filter and fuel filter too. Is it the same process as I am used to where I just have to release the fuel cap to relieve pressure before changing fuel filter or do I need to do something else too?
Brake fluid doesn't seem to be dirty. Should I change it anyway?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also a direction to where I might find the right service manual would be awesome.

engine oil - 10000kms / 6000miles
oil filter - 20000kms / 12000miles
air filter - 40000kms / 24000miles
fuel filter - 40000kms / 24000miles
coolant - 40000kms / 24000miles
spark plugs - 40000kms / 24000miles or 24 months
braking liquid - 60000kms / 36000miles or 36 months
gearbox oil - 80000kms / 48000miles or 45 months
cam belt - 100000kms / 60000miles or 60 months

If I was you, I would change the whole lot. Not knowing how old some of the things are could lead to some nasty surprises. Peace of mind also.

I would look into replacing a few things (also mentioned above) such as

Timing belt, water pump and cam seals if they weren't changed at the 100,000km major service.

Other things you could look into replacing if faulty or worn out could be

*spark plugs
*spark leads
*check and clean/replace rotors and caps
*thermostat if your car isn't heating up or cooling down as it should be
*gearbox oil
*brake fluid (even if your one isn't dirty)

i agree^^^
change ALL fluids, water pump and timing belt.
be ready to change some seals while doing the timing belt

I've followed the suggested maintenance. The car is running great. Fortunately the car had already had its 100,000km service done.

Gearbox oil fill bolt was a real PITA to remove haha.
