What Makes an Exhaust sound like its farting.

Hi Guys,

Just completed my exhaust.

2 and 1/2 inch mendrel bent pipe, xforce twin loop muffler with PLM Headers.

No Resonator - Straight Flow. 100CPI Cat.


As soon as i go past 4k a small buzzing sound comes on. As soon as i hit 6k that sound is almost as loud as my car. I have taken a video but the sound is not clear, will try to take another one.

Is a Resonator important?

That buzzing is called resonance. Thats why we use resonators, so it doesnt happen.

If you want a loud/nice sounding exahaust, run a resonator, but dont run a muffler, or run a straight through muffler.

i think this is fake sound u r talk about, if u look at driver he sometime making fart noise using mouth, make car sound like powerful kind hurt my ear

i guess if that noise really annoys you then try the below method ....this will definately keep the noise down and u get a free BBQ too

i had a car with 2 resonators on it, no muffler. was loud as hell. my ears blead.

i think you should run oval muffler to help rid of most noise.

Buts its a twin loop. Ill get a resonator fited asap. Im happy with the tone and loudness to it, just the buzz sounds makes it sound so cheap. I know i got replica brands and what not to cut cost down. But still forking out 1.5k for it. Didnt expect it to sound so shit. Ill take a video on my way home when i hit vtec entering m4.

Put together with a 2 and 1/2 inch bendrel bent pipe.

No Resonator as I was told that resonator effects the straight flow.
