Thread: door key locks

    door key locks

the 1992 eg si i bought second hand; the key only works for the front door and ignition while it doesn't work for the passenger and boot, also some other keys that are made for cars dating around the same time (1992) also can do the same things my key is able to do (open my driver / turn on ignition, but not passenger or boot)

    best course of action?

take the locks out that don't work and take them to a lock smith to have the locks recoded

Yeah sounds like the car may have been jacked previously and the thief shagged the driver's door and ignition barrels.

Best thing to do as ECU-MAN said is remove them and take them to a locksmith with the key you want to use, and have him adjust the inner 'fingers' that mate up to the key.

Have done it before, worked fine.
