Hatchback 2013 Comparisons || Civic vs Corolla

I really found this quite interesting in
\The competition is fierce in the hot hatch world.
The price tag + the feature u get + possible extras + warranty etc.

Recently i had my Burmese co-worker asked to help him decide on a car for his parents.
He wanted something brand new straight from the show room and economical.

Since they were deciding on the NEw! Toyota Corolla i was hoping to steer him away from that and go the New Civic hatch.

So lets check em out side by side.

What im really after is open minded opinions and feedback.

P.S in the End my co-worker went for the Civic purely based on the interior looks heaps better in terms of quality finish and the exterior styling looks SEXY

Ive sat in new corolla, Black outside and black inside with leather options, surprisingly i find it not bad. Theres afew cheap plastic feel here and there. Is also came with the Panorama sunroof, i think that what its called. I havent been in the civic so i cant comment

My dad was in the same situation at the end he chose the civic just because build quality was different to the civic and price is very similar.
The new civic comes with alot of good standard features opose to previous years examples Reverse camera, bluetooth connectivity, USB adaptors etc. for around 21K for a VtiL that's pretty good.

I think the Corolla's Ascent Sport version equivalent to a Civic's is the VTi-S version and not the VTi-L. The Ascent Sport's price ranges from $22500-$23500 where the VTi-S is from $21000-$22000. VTi-L is aimed at the Levin SX. VTi-LN at the Levin ZR. Toyota stripped a bit of features from the Ascent which is priced at the VTi-S range and sometimes even more, so imo just isn’t worth it. I had a very difficult time deciding too but I went with the Civic VTi-S as it looks nicer in the interior and feels better built, to me anyway. I also liked how the rear seats can fold up. I got better extras like 5 yr warranty and road side assistance, rego, black and white plates, mats & boot tray for $21000. Prices are for manual btw. The Corolla looks nicer when raw I reckon as it has that black bumper and the rear diffuser which you have to purchase separately for the civic.

    CVT is an evil thing.

But i'd get a plain manual.

My next new car wont be a honda if they keep up this AUTOMATIC ONLY crap up.

Sometimes I prefer the older honda's unbreakable.

Hopefully manual's don't get obsolete soon. The majority of cars seen on streets today are automatic.
