Did they really cost you $400 though?

You have to remember that if they believe the product to be worth more, they will charge you stamp duty on the estimated price.

Some things will be easy to slip through, but given the size and weight of the box of coilovers I am guessing that they would want to check out what was in it....

I have found that it is often best to keep it well under the $400 threshold.

Remember these guys in customs aren't stupid.

i shipped 3 corners of coilover and I wrote $400 on the document EVERYTIME i ship my sussy from HK ro Melb but EVERYTIME i got taxed for $100. Custom will estimate their own price if they dun believe as Jus10 said. I just take my own risk but yet I am here to remind ppl becareful on importing good from HK dealer in trader section as u are not 100% as lucky as other people.

    lol
if it happens so many times from the same company, custom will know one day. EMS is seldom get taxed but again customs will record the incoming pacels and especially those 20kg+ coilover, they will do sth on it one day.
Now is fine since not MUCH ppl buying from them but IF u get fine..... $400=$100 tax, $1XXX= $X00 tax

my HKS weight 22+ with all tools but I just use some thick papers to wrap it up so make the size as small as I can.
If original box from HKS, u will be surprised by the size.... two BIG boxes with front in one box and rear in one box. Japan packing always look good and big
    lol

customs know what they are doing so expect and budget to be taxed.
