Vtec ECU problem
I have just completed a F23A swap in to my 97 Odyssey. The car runs fine with the stock 37820-P1E-Q50 ecu but has no Vtec. Does anyone know which ecu i need to wire up vtec correctly??
The above image is a picture of my stock 37820-P1E-Q50 ECU. Can anyone tell me if this OBD1?

traditionally A4 is the VTS wire for OBDI however you will need to confirm this with the schematic

this P1E ECU looks like its OBDI however from memory I think they run the IMMO-AO immobiliser system in them.
The closest ECU I can think of that will match the F23A would be the POA ECU from a F22B1 however the fuel maps will be out. Is your car MT or AT as that will be a factor on what ECU you use.
IF you have a MT then you can get a socketed OBD1 ECU and have it custom tuned to the engine for best performance or even run Hondata S200, S300, Neptune ect if you willing to spend the extra $
with all of the above you will need to double check the PO2H wire to the ECU as it changed between certain ECU models

Im running Auto trans. Are there any chips out there that work with auto trans and have f23 basemap?

the basemap does not determine if it is AT or MT. The hardware in the ECU does. I'm not aware of any OBDI basemap that will suit your application

Since my ecu has the immoblizer in it, will my car still start if I put in a non immoblizer ecu such as POA ecu?

as long as you use the original keys, yes
you need to check the pinouts of your PO2H at the ECU before you try the POA, they should be the same but you need to confirm

I have just tried to put in a POA ecu but one of the three plugs will not fit. I have also tried another P1E immobilizer ecu which has blue plugs and it fits. From what I can gather is that standard obd1ecu plugs are different to the immoblizer obd1 ecu. Are there any easy way around this?

was it the first connector (with release tab on top)

Its the one on the right in the photo. The bottom teeth is slightly different on the POA but has the same number of pins. If I were to chop off an non immo POA ecu plug and replace with the immo plug to my engine harness would the non immo ecu work on the car?

Chop off the two outer rising bits of plastic only. This is teh ECU A Connector
Again you need to confirm with the schematic to ensure everyting is layed out as the Accord. From memory its the same but you shoulr double check
