hey, there was a question about the B16A and the SR20DET in the civic forum, and i raised the question of a H22A against a SR20DET in the S15.

i reckon it's fairling close, giving that the S15 is within 1/2 a car length ahead.

what you guys think? (without any bias responses to the H22A of course!)

*please add your vote to your replies, cheers fellas!

    Hey

The beaty of S15s and the like is that there is extra performance forever, and at a better price than a fast H22A prelude....

If I could have found an S15 for the same price as my Gen 5 'lude, then I prolly would have bought one. They are not as nice to drive though. But they are faster standard, and barely any NA modified lude will ever keep up... ludes are tubby too, S15s are quite light.

in a striaght line, stock for stock...down to the driver...it IS possibel fro a 5th gen to beat an s15, but the prelude driver needs to know the car....

as for everything else...there was a comparison a few years back wrx v 5th gen v s15 v new celica......basically they said that if the prelude had more power, it would be the best car there...

    the fact remains people.

The most efficient way to put power to the ground is to PUSH not pull.

    Go figure.

is it the j-spec Spec S that are non-turbo or the oz-specs?

You have to be trippin if you think a Prelude is going to stay anywhere near a S15.. I have driven both and while the Lude isnt a slouch the S15 sh!ts on it.. start modifying hem and whatch the difference blow out even more..

Im guessing on a quarter mile, equal drivers, the stock 200sx would pull about 2-3 carlengths easily....

With mods, 200sx would pull even more...
Prelude designed to be more of a luxury cruiser rather than an all out track warrior...

But i love hondas, so GO THE PRELUDE!! hehe

I like Honda's but the S15 is my favourite car!
    I love them!

I have been in a few worked ones and standard...
I'd say the S15 would eat it....
The SR20 is a classical motor!

    well think about this..

S15 has turbo lag, while the lude has early kick of vtec.
so for about up to 100kmph they'll be fairly even.
afterwards the S15 rips it bigtime.
i reckon it's pretty good for a n/a to keep up with a ball-bearing turbo.
