    ek slow after 140km

    I am having a problem with my civic, I did a mini me d14 with y8 head lately, running p28 with neptune.
    new clutch, new timing... Full rebuild
    the car run great (rev great and smooth) until it reach 140km after that, speed hardly move. what do u think could be the problem?

    it likely you found the limits of your gearbox
    need to change ratios to give you more top end speed
    If you see a good Technical post giving advice give some postive rep

    It's geared to more than 200km/h
    What I think is there is either a software limit or physical limitation such as blocked cat etc

    im inclined to believe its a physical limitation i.e restrictive intake or blocked or damaged exhaust.
    Mate my bbk cost more than your Honda.

    yeah, D14, believe or not, this engine pull much better than d16y8 and rev more. even it has smaller displacement. I think that catalytic converter is clogged, i feel hot air under the car after a short drive. I will check catalyic converter .

    as said in second post, d14 is the problem, maybe a jdm d15b is what you need, gives k series a good run for there money

    Lol, why didn't u swap out the d14 altogether and done a full y8 conversion?

    or just buy an engine with potential like B/H/K instead of fukn around with SOHC.
    they can be good if you have stupid money to sink into it but why would you?

    there is no d14 in Australia, you've never sever seen 1, so u can not say it's bad or good. d14 is not the problem. Also this is not my first d series engine, i know how they drive.
