Yup. That's what I thought. Prius gets 3.9 at best and 4.7 on average so my guess was correct

Factory rates are always lower than actual rates anyway

Honda claims 7.9 for FD1 and 8.3 for FD2. I get no where near there with my FD2.

I dont know what toyota claims for their prius. I got all these figures from experience

Old thread dig up but what are thoughts on this ..

09 FD Sport, standard everything, no mods, this is on v95 around town, ac on majority of the time and lots of stop starts. I swear my Vti-L had much better consumption >.<

Got it booked at Honda Southside to have the sensors checked, confirm everything is as it should be. hmm (will update on Monday once done)

Yeah the SOHC 1.8 was a fuel efficent bugga, I got mine down to 5.6L/100, the FD2 is heavier car, has DOHC, hence more mass in head = less fuel efficent !

So since the car was due for a service, took it in @ Southside Honda - only to be told it needs a major service. OK $682 later .. also had them check that nothing was playing up (well you'd hope they checked that on their own..) all good.

I got myself a K&N filter and tested different fuel. So the conclusion is BP 95 - It was showing 437kms travelled and there were 5 units still showing available on the fuel scale - I'm happy now.
