If its anything like the de-droned type in the new WRX, then it would be pretty good. I was very impressed with the CVT WRX. I drove the manual as well and I think the CVT is better.

I've driven a 1st gen Jazz CVT and I did not like it. First it was gutless and secondly, the Jazz CVT helped create an aversion mindset in the public that has persisted since and has been reinforced by Nissan. Honda and Subaru are now doing well to change that.

They way a CVT is designed is to always deliver maximum torque and power
    Without the jerkiness of MT/AT
So it was probably your butt dyno that thought otherwise

Because of the widespread problems with the CVT stater motor/
    clutch
They got rid of it for the 5spd AT

Yes well, my bottom (as we say in Australia) sat in and drove a new WRX CVT and communicated its pleasure to my brain nearby.

    ??

I personally love the CVT in the GD. Love the whole feeling of easily downshifting gears without the "out of the blue" weight transfer.

Sure shes gutless, but once you have picked up speed. Very easy to maintain the speed with 7 speed box.

Don't just judge a car by what it does in a straight line.
