    [CL9] Aftermarket Headunit

    Hey guys

I remember seeing an aftermarket head unit that had all the gizmos and was specifically a straight swap for 03-07's i.e shape etc

Can't seem to find it anywhere

    Cheers
    Paul

I'd assume euro93 means those 7/8" LCD Chinese units that replace the whole stereo/HAVC. Pretty sure they are all LHD, so passenger/driver controls wrong way around. Should be plenty on ebay, etc. and otherwise a straight swap.
    eg.

    No shortage of options.

The Honda double DIN accessory as per the above thread is also an option and yes you can have a 2DIN stereo and still have the HVAC illumination, etc. all working. Not the best place to have a screen/stereo though, too low.

Wow, all the illumination of the buttons stops working on the factory system if you install an aftermarket one? That's retarded. Is there anything about this car's ICE that does not have cons to the pros?

what are you talking about? the buttons work, and if you ask the sellers they can usually do a button swap LHD to RHD.

Oh, that's not what I mean. The forum link provided by konektado above, indicates that installation of single or double din aftermarket units also removes OEM illumination from the factory unit. The complaint seems to be that, in the dark, the OEM climate controls are thus hard to see.

If you know this to be false, by all means correct me. I'll be putting a unit in myself in the next month or so, and I'd really like everything to work.

According to someones comments on a thread linked up further they mentioned "You are correct. The illumination wiring is part of the 20-pin audio connector that you pulled off the factory unit to install your aftermarket stereo. So you are out of luck.

I have installed a Double Din unit in my 07 Euro, i bought the genuine Honda facia kit and made the wiring harness myself.

By making the Harness myself, i was able to maintain all AC/Dual Climate/Clock functions with illumination by splicing off the original harness.

It's not too hard, what u will need is:

    -CL9 stereo Pinout diagram
-Multi Metre or (little prong thing that when u ground one end u stick the other into terminals to see if they are live) don't know what its called
    -Splice connectors
    -wire cutters
    -patience

Doing this will allow u to eventually, with minor effort take out the double din at time of re-sale.

    Hope it helps
