B16 not starting after randomly shutting off

EK4 B16A completely stock except for injen cold air intake.

Today I filled up a full tank of fuel drove for about 15minutes, stopped at a set of traffic lights when the lights turned green I got halfway across the intersection and the car turned off onto reds ignition. stereo was still going and no engine light came on.

turned car off and back on but all it does keep making the starter motor trying to crank over but will not start.

opened the screw above the fuel filter thinking no fuel was coming through, turned ignition to reds and fuel came up.

checked all sensors and plugs nothing has come off.
tried clutch starting it but it struggled to hold a 1000rpm but then shuts off even if I hold the throttle down.

disconnected the battery for 5 mins and put back on.

I still cant figure out whats going on.
Before I tow it to a shop anyone have an idea what it could be?

maeyby but the alarm and electrics are working fine, you think its worth replacing all the ground wires?

Igniter or coil may of failed ( internal to the distributor ) , main relay might have an issue.

Do a ECU test and see if that brings up a code or two


BTW don't keen trying to start it as this can Make things worse

ok so far today took out all spark plugs n cleaned them, 1st n 2nd were covered in oil gave em a real good clean n sand then tried again

im now leaning towards it being an ignitir or coil problem

anyone know where I can buy the ignition switch or igniter?

brand new from honda ignition coil is $77 and ignition igniter is $160

or I can take the whole distributor to Hannys and theyl replace either for $180

just confirm it IS an issue with your dizzy (swap with another known working one - such as a friends ) then if it is - replace both. Easy to replace yourself

update

got my maye to come over as he has same car, i took out his ignition coil put into my car and boom.

cars running sweet.

went down to repco and bought one for $50

absolutley cheering missed my vtec hard
