including cams? I don't think you have done your research enough.

I wouldn't just cam an engine without looking into its drive-train.

If you want b18c7 easy 4-5k just for engine gear box ecu and loom.

Then you need to start filling the gap parts as monetz mentioned. Mounts, aircon, powersteering, computer to tune the cams, driveshafts, shift linkages list goes on.

Then labour easy 1k+ then fluids. While the motor is out may as well do a major before she goes in more $$$ required.

Buy a low KM k24 and kswap call it a day.

Like Monetz said, looking anywhere around $5000 for just the engine and the gearbox. Then the oddball bits around it like the cams, ECU and the tune can go in excess of $2000. I know of someone who built his own type R with a B16B a few years back and it cost $6000-ish and many hours of DIY labour.

... then he got too carried away and painted the car championship white, 5 stud conversion and complete red interior etc. End cost was in excess of $20000.

Whoa this guy wants to go stage 2 cams without looking at retainers or adjustable cam gears.

Your so gonna be in for a rude surprise.

If your gonna cam a b series, i'd say start cheap. Get a B18C2 + b16 gearbox, then service the head and install your cams.

Will cost you a lot less for similar performance.

my JDM B18cR or B18c7 running on stock cams and stock bottom with Skunk 2 intake manifold + Skunk2 70mm TB, rep J's racing SRI, P72 ECU+Neptune chips at the moment haven't tune this yet.

bro u have to know what your goal what ur looking for!!! u need to do more research!
if ur looking for stage 2 cams on B18c7 u may need to fully rebuild top and Bottom end make sure bottom strong enough to handle.

and i agree with amant02 start cheap. Get a B18C2 + b16 gearbox, then service the head and install your cams.
or Build one B20/B16 B18 head with stage 2 cams will make a good torque

Will cost you a lot less for similar performance.

the best way speak to josh (stndrd) Sleeping Performance & Mechanical Repairs tell josh what your goal he will give u some good deal and information if ur in VIC

If B20, then I guess Kswap would be viable too?
