    Temp/fuel gauge pictures required *please*

    Hi guys first prelude post
I understand this bb2 fuel and temp gauge issue is quite common
Power supplies are present for backlighting
I pulled it out and checked it out
Suspect a transistor has burnt out and previous owner has removed it
Hoping a kind someone would have one lying around and take a picture of the one I have missing in the picture I have hopefully attached below
I hope to be able to order another transistor? And retest

    Thanks guys

This is for the bb2 electronic dash right? Might be worth trying to find another board/dash piece just the fuel/temp part of it and replace it.
Yours has definitely burnt out and if someone's messed with it, probably better to just put a new one in? But buy one locally so you can go and see it, not from a dodgy wrecker where you could buy another dudd man. But it's definitely the board, seeing as your backlight is working and it's not an earth issue.
Heres a diagram i found off HT for you, he had the same problem.. http://honda-tech.com/showpost.php?p...0&postcount=12
    Hope that helps somewhat man.

Can you take a few macro shots of the solder pads?
And without knowing what kind of transistor was in it, replacing it is not as easy as one thinks.

That's very hard information to find

Your best bet is to ask on the prelude australia facebook page, that's quite an active place.

    Best of luck

Unfortunately, PA is down at the moment, code issues or something.

I have sort out another cluster. Found to be a 2sd1052a. I thought it may have been close to another one on the pcb, but no. Thanks anyway guys. New cluster works. Going to be replacing the caps on the power board of the new one so it doesn't cause too much dramas later.

As for the old one. Ordered a new transistor online. Replaced the power board caps and Rewired tracks burnt. Replaced a diode that exploded that fed the base of the transistor and see how we go when the transistor comes in

There are also two caps that have leaked on the central board which falsely activated warning lights. Burnt tracks next to a processor.
The central cluster slowly dimmed in warnings for the brake fluid level and brake light warning.
Will see how it goes after I replace caps and rewire tracks
Might get pictures for future reference for others

Hi all -I'm a PA member; just come across to Super Honda because of PA's site issues (first EVER post). It's not their Facebook page that's down, rather their VBulletin site.

    Cheers
