I need to open this bonnet without causing damage, I've managed to find the cable that runs to the bonnet latch (on driver side ), I've pulled down the guard as much as it can on top if the wheel and put vice grips / multi grips on the cable and tugged on the way it would go to open , all it did was pull the casing around the wire and when I took the grips off, it fell like a I had crushed the protective casing around the wire, I need a way to open this, I can't get under the car because it is parked in a awkward position and I can't jack it up, suggestions guys AND smashing my window will not be acceptable

so for you to say smashing the window to get inside is not acceptable.
why don't u contact RACV so they can get you access into your vehicle without damage.
and they you can access the bonnet latch.

    roadside for them is 24/7.

This does sound sketchy. Certain locksmiths have after hours services, too
