Bought a 95 civic manual making a weird sound echo's when i drive past other cars

    Hi guys,

Bought my first civic a couple of days ago "Manual" today i noticed it makes a weird ticking sound when i drive past other parked cars it echo's when in gear driving when i take the foot off the padal but still in gear the noise goes away but when in gear accelerating it makes a "tick tick tick"when i drive past other cars, i checked the oil and its only half way up the dipstick?.....could that be? it's also got a sticker in the engine bay saying timing belt was changed in 12.10.11 so it cant be the timing belt...or could it?

Is it engine or gearbox???....please help

    Thanx

Ticking I tend to think valve lash, but this is very subjective mate. Could be a number of things. Could be a transmission component etc.

Doubt it's the oil, but you should top it up anyway.

    Thanx mate for the feedback....

Tomorrow I'm to the mechanics so he can look at it hopefully it's nothing major.

    Cheers.

It's your wheels, they need to be balanced.
Go to a tyre shop them and ask them to balance your wheels.
