    B16A2 idle issues

Car is a 95 EK4, all sotck apart from mugen headers.

Basically my issues are that the idle tends to drop too low after letting go of the throttle & also the idle tends to hang high for a second or two after vtec.

The idle issue seems to be bad in the cold mornings, it tends to stall at times and it will take about 5 seconds of cranking to get it started again.

What I've done to try and fix the issue.

    - Checked engine codes - nothing appeared
    - Replaced the IACV twice, it's currently on its 3rd one & all have been cleaned before install.
    - Checked alternator charge voltage and battery voltage, both are in good condition
    - Replaced the leads, dizzy cap, dizzy rotor, plugs, fuel filter.
    - Calibrated the TPS to oem specs
    - Carried out a ECT sensor test, passed with no issues.
    - Replaced the TB & map sensor. I did use a sealant as opposed to a gasket to reseal the TB. not sure if this may cause a issue.
    - Replaced the injectors
    - Cleaned the TB
    - Replaced map sensor O ring
    - Ran a intake manifold cleaner similar to sea foam
    - Checked the dizzy timing, it was spot on.
    - Cleaned all grounds and added a extra ground to the head
    - replaced the FPR
    - Checked vacuum lines for leaks.
    - Installed a new O2 sensor

Next on my list of things to do is to replace the booster seal, not sure if this is going to help though.

Check the IAT circuit as well

sealant on the TB is bad, just use a gasket

when you set the timing did you bridge the SCS to stop the ECU from advancing the timing ?

booster seal is important, also the on way check valve, ensure its working.

I've replaced the IAT sensor, I'll try to carry out the IAT circuit test tonight.

And timing was also checked with the SCS connector jumped.

When it's cold it does idle normally, its just after letting go of the throttle the revs will drop too low and it will stall at times.

I'll also try to clean the TB idle screw tonight.

make sure your valve clearances are correct and not to tight.

    I agree with ECU MAN

I had cold start issues with my integra and issues when it was warmed up as well.
    Changed to a brand new:
    -IACV
    -TPS
    -MAP Sensor O-ring

    And still idled the same.

    My problem was the gasket,
bought a new one and changed it over.
Reset the ecu and calibrated TPS for WOT and closed

    And all good again.
