    Post Cold Air Intake

    Hey guys,

For a while know I've being wondering if it's really worth having a Cold air intake system on my 98 Prelude VTIR. Some people say no others say yes. What do you guys think? Thanks

'worth' is something only you can determine.

expect a minor gain on the butt dyno and a nice sound.

Alright thanks. A lot of people say I won't hear much intake because my exhaust is loud (not really loud but loud enough). I've run a open intake for like 5 mins once and it was nice but I know that acted as a short ram anyway.

I think the CAI is a good upgrade. Good for them feels too! Just rmb you're not really making GAINZ. There is a little increase in power but only with a good quality intake with a good time. Enjoy bro I say go for it

CAI where you will get a nice flow of actual cold Air can be beneficial. Be careful with having it somewhere water logging can occur. I pulled out my air box resonator and ran a cold air duct to my pod which sits neatly in a custom box

What's the difference between a standard VTi-R airbox and a type S one? I've thought about doing a short ram with a box but I'd rather go CAI. I am most likely not doing this because my parents are going all silly saying next thing I want is like a race engine so and they said if I do it they're going to sell my car. It really annoys me because this is one of the only things I want to do anyway so I don't know.

type S is made by master JDM craftsmen from the mountain

    Supposively is the best intake

    i had one

it's still just an intake. lol

Port & Polish Honda felt that it would need to improve on the intake path to compliment the increased high-end performance. The air intake box was made into a funnel shape -- utilizing what Honda calls "dynamic chambers."

    Bringing this thread up again...

Regarding the install is it a direct factory replacement? e.g. any sensors can be plugged in, vacuum lines etc.

    EDIT:

The sensor near where the reservoirs that are located to the left on the intake pipe near the TB.
