    b16a + ITR cams

    just got a few questions..
if i put itr cams in my b16a would i need to rev past the 8200 redline of the b16a to get the most out of it ?
if so, is it possible to change valve springs without first removing the head ??

    thanks

my friend put a civic type R camshafts on his B16a CRX...revved to 8000ish rpm only but he ran 14sec quarter...i know its off topic, but just an indication of what the camshaft did to his car...but again, his car would be lighter than yours.

i've tuned a b16 with ITR cams. I cant say I was impressed with the power gains vs cost of mod.
car made 105kw@wheels, gears @ (0,0) stock base timing.

We tuned ignition timing & fuel made a 8kw gain @ peak.
Car has exhaust also. I guess its a decent power gain for NA, problem is, the power characteristics were the same as stock cams, meaning that revving higher didnt net a new peak power point.

Don't put too much timing and don't adjust A/F ratio too lean.

    Raff,

Well, what he had was extractors, exhaust, air filter, and adjustable cam gears. He didnt have an aftermarket ECU so he coudlnt really get it tuned properly.
