Honda Accord 1996 - car didn't start in P, though worked in N

    Good morning.
Encountered the above issue last night, where the engine didn't crank in P, though started in N (automated transmission).
Can i get some feedback, to see where i should start troubleshooting:

    ie: ignition switch
    battery
    starter motor
    alternator.

Problem sounds like the park neutral switch, could either be faulty or out of alignment.

It is possible the problem is the ignition switch and it just happen to work in N and not P however you should be able to rule that out pretty quickly.

It will not be the alternator or battery

The starter motor could be the problem but just like the ignition switch it should be easy to rule it out.

check your P/N switch adjustment, if your car started in N, its not the starter motor or the ignition.

normally, its a plate metal spring that just needed to be bent back alittle bit, or the shift linkage needs abit of adjustment.
