    [CL9] - tyre recommendation

    Hi all

I understand it's been asked a lot of times

    Looking to replace all 4's

Have a CL9 and they have a promotion on the Eagle F1 Directional 5's for $199 each. I am after comfort and noise with good all round grip i guess

    Good deal it seems ?

    or should I look at NT8000 ?

    Standard cl7/cl9 wheel size 215/45/17 I believe

So got a couple of options here in NZ dollars

    - Dunlop Sport Maxx TT $139
    - Bridgestone RE003 $237
    - Michelin PS3 $244
    - Eagle F1 Directional 5 $189-$199

Just day to day driving so RE003 probably too much for what i do . Rarely spirited out of town driving or heavy foot. The tire guy suggested Maxx TT

Looking to get this done later today or tomorrow, so a quick response would be good ! thanks !

I had Dunlop Sport Maxx on my FPV GT when I had it...terrible tyres for the price. Personally, I'd be looking at either the Eagle F1's or some Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

Don't know about NZ but pretty sure in Aus the 17s are 225/45 not 215...

Agree, i've had a couple of bad experiences with dunlop. So i'd say go with any of the others and you'll be fine in the long run.

There are a few different Dunlop Sport Maxx's

    Sport Maxx
    Sport Maxx GT
    Sport Maxx RT

the RT is the one you want, the rest are ordinary.

Anyone have experience with the RE003s?
    Specifically 225/45/17...
Local tyre place is recommending them and can fit a set of 4 for $700 at the moment. Sounds like a reasonable price. Anyone care to bite?

RE003 is a new tyre replacing the Re002

so new in fact theres few and far reviews in between

but it should be better than RE002 in every way and form.

My CL9 has Bridgestone RE002 205/55/16. I paid $167 each 2 years ago at kmart. Happy with the performance so far. I keep the pressure at 36 psi.
