Is the Import scene dying ?

Quite rare to see a worked import nowadays. Once a month, I come across an S15 while driving back from work (out West to Homebush on Old Windsor Rd and/or M4). Really happy to see imports, but really rare now. So many BMWs, VAGs and more recently Merc C200 (the new ones)

I guess you never saw how packed broad water car park and the streets of the Gold Coast were with modified cars every weekend circa around 2005?
