    i have 2 mates
one of which has a 99 Integra Type R and the other a 2002 Celica ZR
both are 1.8L engines and both put out around 140 kw
the celica is a 6 speed manual
    both cars are stock

they aint no racers and dont want to drag
but they would like to know which of the 2 are the better car?
in terms of straight line performance, 0-100 and 1/4 mile times?
    and also on the track

The Celica is faster but not by much if your only talking straight line 400metre distance. Not by much ofcource but little faster, I got a clip of a Type R vs Celica 2002 model, and it just wins by a 1-2 car legths down the quarter. But track performace stock, the TYpeR hands down wins.

The type r will beat the down the quarter mile, the celica has its peak power and torque very very high up in the rev range (140kw@7600, 180Nm@6800) simalar to the type r, however due to its gearing, the celica tends to fall out of its shorter powerband when shifting up unlike the itr..

umm rough figures would be low 15s for itr, mid to high 15s for celica zr..

On the track, the sussy setup btw the itr and celica cannot compare..the itr was primarily designed to be used for trackwork and the sussy has been tuned for this..also the brakes in the itr pisses all over the celica.

have played with one in my vtir (unfortunately not far enough to be substantial lol)...earlier in the year when my car had I/H/E and lightened flywheel....

I was ahead after 1st gear by about a metre...and half way through 2nd gear we were side by side, before I turned off.

I think he would have overpowered me by top of 2nd...but would have been interesting to see how it went.
    blah blah blah
