Just "one of those things" again ?

    Interested in people's opinions:
Opening my 2015 Jazz' Hatch in the dark, my friend missed the catch
and pulled on the black plastic trim running under the back window instead.
Snapped it apart in two places. ($150 to replace)
Just one of those things "these days" or not acceptable quality ?
