5th Gear will not stay selected when driving.

This issue just started occurring a few days ago. I have reason to believe that it may be related to the detent spring that holds 5th gear in place however I do not have access to the vehicle so am unable to inspect the condition of this detent spring (and ball) or the other.
The diagrams and video clips I have been able to locate have not been much help.
I am hoping someone on the forum might be able to forward me a picture (or diagram) that details exactly where the detent cover bolts are located, in particular the one that is responsible for holding 5th gear.

I would hope this issue may be easy to rectify and need to try this option before pulling the gear box out for repair or replacement.

    Much appreciated.. Cheers John T

Thanks for advising.. I'll keep cbdsg in mind. If this is a $10 problem, I'd rather fix it the simple way.... if that fails, then the replacement box!!

Thanks DaveHo1, the cables seem to be 'free' enough so I'm reasonably certain they don't need any attention. Given how quickly this issue started happening, I'm inclined to believe it is a broken or bent detent spring so it is not putting enough pressure on the detent ball, but just the one that is holding 5th gear in place (or not as is the case)!!

    Cheers
