I found a mechanic who told me to squeeze the back of the white plastic cable end. It has tabs that lock into the top of the pedal.
Only a matter of undoing two nuts then to remove from the inside.
It went well.
I hung the cable up by its bracket then repeatedly sprayed Inox into the top and worked the cable inner up and down.
Eventually, the bottom end of the cable became wet with the Inox and a heap of black muck came out with it and wiped it off with a rag.
I continued to spray until only clear Inox came out.
Now it's back on the car and is much easier to press the throttle and as smooth as silk.
