Can wider wheels fit on standard rims (FN2 Type R)

Was wondering whether i could fit wider tyres on my Fn2 type R (yoko ADO8-R) Standard: 225/40R18 88W
Better? 235/40R18 91W

Even wider?

Would like to get that extra grip for track days.

Will fit fine. You can even put 175's on it if you want.

I don't think you'd notice a difference though unless it's a full blown out track car or the surface of the track is 100% flat with no camber.
