    2012 Odyssey wheel alignment issues

My issues: the 1st set of rear tyres wear out in the inside and need to be replaced about 7 months ago (the previous wheel alignment was 8 months, travel 8000km), I just took the car to another wheel alignment last weekend to discover the rear tyres is wearing out in the inside yet again and is now borderline to be street legal. (7 months travel 7500km). So in the last 15 months the car wear out 2 sets of rear tyres - only in the inside about 1cm strip)

The tyre shop only said the chamber is out by 1 degree and didn’t have any explanation other just bump on the road.

    The facts about the car:
    • Currently 53,000 on the odometer
    • The most usage for school/shopping centre run, no prior accident
    • We had occasional short trip with full load 5 adult and 2 kids plus some baggage. (if it will make any difference)

Could anyone help possible cause and solution for both rear tyres wear out the in the inside?

    Thanks
    Ron

I have found out the issues was due to the car full load, suspension specialist had inspected the car and no visible worn out parts.

On both occasions we had long road trip with full load (explain the timing on tyre wear), I didn’t think we had over the maximum weight limit but certainly would be closer to 570kg maximum load, which make the both rear wheel had excessive negative chamber.

This car has no chamber adjustment. it had negative chamber to start with which was compensated with small toe out when the car had no load.

Does anyone know where to get the chamber kits for Honda Odyssey 2012 model?

I also have the same problem, though I have a lot more klms on mine in a 2011 luxury - I have just purchased a new coilover kit from BC Racing - the new kit cost $1299 (free delivery) and seems to be of very high quality - I have installed the front so far and they went in easy as - the kit comes with everything you need to fit in the vehicle. The rear will be a little harder as it looks like the 3rd row seat and some carpet and trims might have to come out - I was just about to nut it out so I can let you know the process, but the spring rate is going to stiffen the car up. I can already feel the front is really good, there is about 32 adjustments on the strut top mount so you can make it hard or soft as you like, so soft in fact it softer than standard, I have set mine a little harder than standard and I have set the height about 15mm lower, I will set the rear up a fair bit harder as these bongo vans bounce like a bitch and the camber causes the tyre wear issues. After I have installed the rears coilovers I am taking the car to get new bushes fitted in the steering rack as that has some play in the LH tie rod area and you can feel it knock through the steering wheel, then I will buy the offset bushes that Fulcrum Suspension sell so I can fix up the caster angles and stop it pulling to the Left. I really look forward to the end result as I have put up with the tyre wear-the knocking and the bouncing in the rear for a long time. Hopefully all will be good.

Note the coil overs are height adjustable as well so you can dial it down a bit if you want to get a bit better stance. Also available is a rear suspension camber adjustment - so if you still get tyre wear you can dial a bit more positive camber.. Anyway

    regards

    Casey
