Thread: Wiring My Subs

    Wiring My Subs

    I've just bought a

    Audiobahn AMP
    Output 1x800RMS

    Pumping 2 x 12" Pionner Subs
Output of the each sub is 400RMS...

My question is how to wire the subs and the amps so that the subs are pumping 400rms and the amp is running max?

    depends...

are your subs svc or dvc, 2O or 4O

is the mono 1O stable, 2Ostable???

and why would you buy gear without knowing if it will match?

    2 4ohm subs:

    parallel - 2ohm load
    series - 8ohm load

    so go parallel!

If the amp outputs 800wrms @4ohm then it probably outputs about 1200wrms @2ohm, giving each sub ~600wrms but they can only handle 400wrmns so be aware of this when setting the gains!

Doesn't look like its 2 ohm stable. Bad move mate, very bad move buying stuff without seeing the VC config first! If you want to run both subs looks like you will have to run parallel, throwing an 8 ohm load to the amp, seeing around maybe ~200-220 rms per sub, which is enough, but it sucks cos you are not utilising the full potential of the amp. Maybe sell the 2 subs get one nice sub that can handle the 800 rms nicely at 4 ohms?

    Nah thats not right.

    Go here:
    http://www.cardomain.com/item/ABNA8000T OR,
    http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Audiobahn_A8000T

    It produces 800wrms at 2O = 400wrms each sub = ideal

the audiobahn amp is 2ohm stable... majority of monoblocks run at 2ohms...

    wire it in parallell...
