there is a significant loss between manual and auto. a manual directly transfers the power through direct train of components. an auto transfers it through a torque convertor which uses fluid movement to transfer the power which is far less direct and efficient. as indicated by the name, torque plays a large part in this which sees autos to be far better in larger capacity cars with higher torque and power output.

Automatic gearbox.....the shifting point is set by the factory.....like my one is not allowed to go more than 6800rpm......but manual gearbox u be free to shift the gear....like 7200 rpm.....this is big different esp for revvy Honda VTEC engines ....also another point is auto is usually 4 speed while manual is 5 speed.....the more gear u get the faster u get up to speed....

I wish i have a Buddy Club spec B computer.....then my car and rev up until 7200rpm....

You still need to look into a more performance based torque convert to really gain anything. There's a couple of tranny kits over in the states you can get to decrease your shift lenght... mind you this means your box is going to be dieing a lot earlier.
