It's always good to upgrade the stock speakers. Im not exactly sure on the size of your front speakers. Do a search and you might be able to find something....

what were you planning to change the front speakers to?
    have you thought of anything?
an upgrade would be good depending on what you plan to put in...

If your speakers aint busted then there is no need to change it (only if your happy with the sound your getting from them)..

If you've got a lil bit to spend think about some splits...but I guess they always sound better with an amplifier, but atm Im running my splits off deck (50wx4) and it made a huge difference in terms of clarity!

best to change factory speakers especially if u have aftermarket headunit. if u want better sound

and more power, go change ur front speakers and get an amplifier to power your speakers.

front speakers are by far the most important speakers of any sound system.
    rear speakers are least important.

higher quality front speakers (preferbably running of at least a small amp) and a 12 inch sub is more than enough for good SQ.

There are 6" (or maybe 6.5") splits from factory in the vti, i think the exi has a different setup though.

If you change them to better speakers then you will only gain decent benefit after you amp them.

You could just swap them for a better pair of coaxials for a cheap solution.
