V-tec is all about revs, when the high cams come in, the sound is beautiful. Tyres does matter a lot on track, so does the brakes. It lets you turn in faster while still having the grip.
I agree with the good driver comment, the lines and the breaking point they take is very accurate. There are lines are so tight!!! I have been to Wakefield Park a few times, talk to the more experienced drivers and most of them are willing to give you a few tips. I learn something new everytime ago!!

Wakefield is a funny track - I love it, but hate corner 7, the bumpy downhill tightish lefthander... Only driven a RWD on the track, and if you miss match the revs on the downshift, that corner can be hell every time....

Wakefield also suits front wheel drives, so all the hondas should get quite good lap times there, and as you can see here, the times aren't bad

I just love this car and it will be faster this year, there was a GTi Suzuki that we built and raced a few years ago and it won the State 2lt Championship for Improved Production Cars and at Wakefield it holds the Lap record for its class 1.09.32 On the same tires as this Honda

that car is track prep right?? full rool cage as well....

but I admire the time that he did....1 min 9 sec is really fast for the EG 4 door especially for just a 1.6L car

a couple of years ago, I did 1:17 in my EK4 with the following mods:
    - CAI
    - 2 inch cat back exhaust
    - Dunlop semi slicks.

    everything else was standard.

My best is 1m15s in my DC5R with full street trim.

    Mods....
    Pod filter
    Cat back
    H&R Springs

Now have Spoon bars, Endless pads and soon to be getting either semi or full slicks (depending on $$$) so it will be interesting then!
