    250 hp on 6psi???

hey guys can ou tell me if this artical was full of shit or what,

untill i came on this website i though hondas went hard as on low boost, but now im seing only 130kw on 9psi ( keep in mind i mean a bolt on kit, no internals)

when i looked at overboost .com,
this dude put a integra drag turbo install, eg no internals and ran 6psi and his yno figures are statign 250hp, with a 13.6 quarter mile, all on 6 psi

have a read and tell me what u think

All I can tell you is that american HP is always alot higher than AUS hp.

Do you have the same turbo kit?

    Consider the following:
    • Head Work
    • Better fuel system (injectors, pump, hoses)
    • Better Ignition system
    • Different cam profile
    • Better tuning (or tuned to make peak power, not for drivabillity)
    • Better fuel
    • They use a custom dump pipe?
    • Difference in Dynos (shoot out mode? different make/model?)
    • Different intake system (cooler charge?)
    • Different environmental conditions (cooler environment?)

250whp is VERY possible on 6psi.

    I make that at 4.5psi on a b16

130kw is a little low for the b18, but u gotta consider dyno's will always read different, espically US dyno's. take it to the track i spose, see how ur 1/4 goes.

its not what power it reads, its all about ur percentage gain...

I mean, my civic made 376kws on a certain dyno, and pretty much similar conditions, i got 343 on another dyno on the same amount of boost and settings.

It really doesnt mean much though, cos the dyno that it was baselined at is the dyno you want to compare to as they should remain calibrated the same as when you were stock.

Basically 250hp is exactly 186.43kw. my integra gsi had 128.7kw which makes the figure 172.59hp. My car was running 6psi at the time as well. Difference here is that this guy is using a t3/t4 whereas i am only using a t28 turbo. Also he has an auxiliary fuel pump. Im using the standard fuel pump. So far looking at the comparasin, these figures could definately be true. Now he claims to have approx 250hp @ 6500 rpm where my 172hp/128.7kw was read at 5999rpm. His run was 13.28 @ 104.9mph where mine was 14.2 @ 101mph. That should give a rough comparasin to this topic.

It is definately true that dyno charts dont read consistantly across the board as everyone has different ways to tune a car. And figures dont mean much as i had my car re tuned on 9psi only gaining approx 3kw more. (131.4kw) But jesus the difference was soooo noticable. The car went so much better. Anyway basically im assuming that this can be possible but the only thing i'd question is that clutch. He was using a standard clutch as i was. These are hopeless in a turbocharged teg. Unless mine was older and more worn than his, every second run of mine was stuffed due to the clutch slipping.

Oh another thing is that i was running in 28degree weather. Also it doesnt mention if he was running with standard street rubber like i was.

I'd believe it... run 6 psi of boost with absolutely no ignition retard and you'll make lots of power

and blow your engine in short order... but you'll make lots of power for a while

that's also a quite larger turbo, so it doesn't surprise me that much.

Although I wouldn't trust anyone that installs a block guard in that manner... way to really mess up a block

most of the setups in australia that are similar to urs are pretty much putting out the same sought of power.
If i were to follow the guides to the usa then i should have from 500-600hp atw's.
But i don't, and 400hp is enough in anyones terms i guess.
