    b18c5 - Questions

    Hello all
i am new to this forem and i would like to ask you all a few questions about an engine i just purchased (which needs some work)

i have just purchased a B18c5 Twin Cam from an integra, it does however have destroyed cylinder walls, also it does not have a gear box or an ECU.

I was looking to build this in the near future and eventually drop it into my EG civic sedan.

I currently have a microtec LT8 management unit so will i be able to use this computer with the b18c and disregard the b18c ecu.

also what is an aproximate price for getting the engine resleeved
Also do all B series Gear Boxs match up to each other or do i have to get a b18c5 box to fit a b18c5 engine

Please help me out guys any answers you could give me would be great

If its a C5, it'd have to be, wouldnt it? Europe got C6, JDM is B18C-R.

start saving for some new sleeves if you want to reuse that thing... expect $1200 for Darton MID sleeves plus another 1K to get them fitted... I hope you picked it up cheap!

ecu arent that expensive. the only thing that would be a worry is getting a box. u can prolly use the box from a b18b integra gsi. i know u cant use the b20a (prelude with the pop up lights) box. flipmods told me that

The B20 was never in a prelude to my knowledge. It was in the first gen CR-V. The Prelude 2.0i had the F20 non-vtec engine, and the 2.2 had the H22Ax engine.

the 88-92 BA Prelude's (3rd Gen) came with a DOHC B20A Motor which is totally different to the B20B engine found on the CRV's i.e nothings really interchangable b/w the two motors

The 4th gen Preludes came with the F and H series engines....
