is a highflow cat needed for mugen twinloop install?

hey guys im getting ready to install my mugen twinloop exhaust that i just got!!! finally!! will no longer be a ricer!!! WOOOOOO!!! :P
but yea do i need to go about seeking a new cat for the install??
or will it be fine with the old cat??
a mate told me metal cat or magnaflo?

    what do u guys think?
i know that the exhaust alone wont do much interms of performance..
but im just really sick and tired of the droney sound from my current exhaust.. and when i have ppl in the car to have a convo i would be yelling at them..

so is a new cat needed and will it change much??
    cheers guys

you will need the same size oem jdm triangle flange to suit
i would not get the eaxhaust shop to hack your new exhaust
or you could run a oem jdm 2.5 inch cat
or get the jdm flanges to suit from the traders on here to make it fit properly

run the oem one from jdm version, you should find it at import wrecker, then just gut it if you want,

edit.but when you gut it, it stinks like fuel when you stop the car. do you have any aftermarket header ? lol sounds like your car is loud

nah i dont have any headers yet looking to get toda headers know anyone with a set??
my car is damn loud!!! esp when i hit vtec.. guy that had it b4 me i dont know what he did but my mate had a look at my exhaust and he told me that it was a tip that was just welded on and yea BIG NOISE!!!!
if i were to 'gut' the cat wouldnt that make it illegal??

and as long as i have a hiflow its okay??
doesnt matter what brand make or model or being custom.. as long as it fits right?

thay will do you a custom one
where they will hack your new exhaust and put a cheap 2 bolt flange on
i would not let this happen to a nice exhaust

yeah gutting cat is illegal, its like a enviro fine, but i used to just turn car off if they ever pulled me over.

and nah dont know anyone with toda header aye, really rare to come up second hand.

if you got tight budget bro, just look for second hand from import wrecker, like seeker motorsport or a local one that brings in honda shiet.

if you really want new headers but dont wanna spend 1k plus, you can always buy 5zigen for about 800 bucks brand new or 900, and there decent.

i reccomend second hand good quality header but instead of brand new xforce or some shit

agreed, last time they said they had something they could fit they were gona cut my buddyclub spec 3 exhaust in half, lucky i stopped them in time, they didnt even ask me or tell me, id watch them very closely when they're fitting your exhaust.

because usually dont have the odd jdm honda triangle flange or 2.5" donut
so they do what they do best
chop up good exhaust and put there cheap ass 2 bolt flange
    and charge you more
and stuff up your exhaust for ever as you can never use jdm headers and cat with out modifing them
most exhaust shop dont have aclue when it comes to jdm flange sizes

if you have a jdm header/cat and cat back
    you can install yourself
evrything bolts up and lines up
just need 12/14mm spanners , sockets and ratchet
    easy as
