What sort of LED will you run with the high mount brake light?

Will you be able to put the lid back after the LED are soldered onto the board? or you are not going to put the red lid on at all?

If you put the lid back on, you will need lots of high mcd LEDs as it blocks a lot of the light.

I got stuck at that point and will probly get back to it again this weekend. Keep us updated

I assume that you will run 20 LEDs in series and 7 rows in parallel. Will you have enough voltage to light up 20 of them to the full brightness? Again my assumption is running 5mm round LEDs.

I am actually thinking of using the superflux led. As I can neatly lay them side by side.

Not sure that the outcome will be but I will give it a try. If not I will probly try the 10mm ones. I like your thinkig as not to put the cover on. Might even spray the board to red colour.

superflux led? where u can get that?
I run 5-6 LED in series depends on the length of that row with certain amount of resistor which is way enough for brake. I have sprayed the board in red and will put a thin red tinted plastic on top of that as well. Till working on as it is quite time consuming.
For interior lights like dashboard, we need a BRIGHTER one not those gay 5mm one which I used for my brake and ceiling light.

it is not hard to do it. just go dicksmith and get everything u need. Also web is your frd. =)
