Owners of 5th Gen Vti-Rs.. How do they peform?

    Hi Yall,

About to purchase my first car since the last one left me for honda heaven. Had a 96 VtiR Civic (B16A).

Question: How would a Semi-Automatic Vti-r Prelude feel/peform/handle compared to the Civic (which was a manual)?

    96 Vtir Civic (B16A) - 118kW Man
    98-01 Vtir Prelude (H2A) - 143/7kW Semi-Auto

Can you control an Auto with vtec to rev where you want it to? etc..

    Thanks Guys!! =) =)

if you want the real vtec experience, go for a manual. After all vtec is what honda's are all about

As for your other question you'd generally fine that the civic would outhandle the prelude, but in terms of driveability and performance there is really no contest, the prelude would win hands down.

the prelude would be more classier and its a cruiser..and would beat the civic hands down anyday...girls dig it more as well

get a prelude..its less common..but if you want manual get the civic

Slow and heavy... go manual, or find you will be left in the dust by the b16a... at least for the first few hundred metres.

going for tiptronic ai, i guess its prob the same as an auto except gives you the option of shifting the rev range. Anyhow, still slower than a manual.
