205/40/17 is the ideal tyres for 17" on a jazz. If you got 16" you have to get 195/45/16...

i got told that 195 is the biggest the 15" will take. Im getting 195/50/15 cause they heaps cheaper than 185/55/15

muli is right. also it might be abit difficult to source 205 tires for 15" rims. and remember that increasing tire width will increase rolling resistance, hence could lead to higher fuel consumption.

    stock vti rims

In case anyone with a VTi is interested, you can actually take 185/55 rubber instead of the stock 175/65.

I got this size with Pirelli P6000 tyre - it was roughly $500 for 4 tyres but made a huge difference in handling over stock (when properly inflated). Better in the rain, too.

I would have thought compound would make more of a difference to rolling resistance than a small increase in width. As nice and grippy as silicone compound sports tyres are that stick takes more force to rotate than say continental ecos or other tyres designed for hybrids - insight etc (where minimal resistance is a primary goal with fuel consumption). Go the bald cheesecutters for maximum fuel economy.
