For the CRV owners out there...

Hi guys... I've been on this forum a while but mainly as part of the audience and this is my first post. Anyhow I've recently got myself a 99 CRV sports and I've noticed on rough roads the cabin noise is atrociously deafening. I'm not reffering to engine noise, but the noise from the tyres rolling on the road and the wind hitting the wind shield and side windows. Even on smoother roads it can be quite unbearable too. Does anyone else share a similar experiece or did I get a dodgy car.

If Its deafening then either you or your car has a problem but I can assure you that a normal CRV would not exhibit 'deafening cabin noise' by way of wind and road noise.

yeah shouldnt be deafening but the stock tires can be a bit noisy as they are designed to be combo off road/on road tyres. I have swapped my CRV tires to more road like tyres and they are much quieter.

Yeap, sounds like a tyre problem. What type are you using?

99 CRV OEM running on BFgoodrich T/A traction tyre.....
the noise comes from the hard compound of the tyre...change to some softer tyre such as..Goodyear Eargle RV....205/70/15
